Students can still apply for General Skilled Migration (GSM)

On the 17th May 2010, The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, the Hon. Senator Chris Evans, released a new Skilled Occupation List (SOL). For many overseas students, still studying at Australian Education Institutions, this was cause for great concern. Many occupations, on the previous SOL, have now been removed, leaving many students feeling that the course they are currently studying will not give them an opportunity to remain in Australia.

However, there are still strategies available, which may provide an opportunity to continue to live and work in Australia, with the potential of ultimately gaining Permanent Residence.

If you have recently completed a Course of study in Australia, but you are still unsure what you should do, please contact one of our registered Migration Agents at TSS for a free, initial consultation.
